For those who care to keep track of the lost acreage

Public land acres leased to oil/gas companies for exploration and development from January 2017-April 2019 total 7.3 million, according to a report by The Wilderness Society.

FYI, congressional action in March 2017 gutted a Bureau of Land Management rule that ensures public involvement in decisions about drilling, mining and logging on our public lands. More information.

On a related note, the individual who staunchly supports the sell-off, William Perry Pendley, was unfortunately reappointed by the interior secretary on Sept. 30 as the interim Bureau of Land Management chief.
