it’s interesting how certain words in the English language exist not generally in conversation or in printed and web-based text but only in forgotten spots inside extra plump editions of the dictionary. “Ornery” means bad-tempered & combative. “Flit” means to move swiftly & lightly. Who knew? One wonders how long it takes for a word to be removed due to being obsolete based on sheer lack of use. New words are added much more quickly than forgotten ones are phased out, it seems. Not that “ornery” and “flit” are obsolete.
